Over the past few weeks, we explored our individual spaces (where we live, where we find ourselves currently, neighbourhoods, backyards) through small improvisations. These personal video and sonic explorations became gestures connecting us to each other and embodied our separate times and places. Generated from these initial gestures, Generations of Decay explores how our artistic processes in creating a new work can in turn become the work itself. With each new generation we embraced the natural decay which resulted from processes of translation as each gesture was received and passed through the group. “Generations” has become an active reflection of our collaboration and on the lineage of ideas.
